KEPO Intelligent Manufacturing: Building Efficient, High-Quality Automotive Component Workshops

KEPO AVAS Production Line

As competition intensifies in the automotive component industry, the level of workshop intelligence has become a key indicator of a company’s overall strength. As an innovator in automotive interiors, KEPO continuously advances its smart manufacturing capabilities—driving efficient production through intelligent equipment and ensuring product quality through stringent standards. By optimizing production processes, KEPO achieves dual improvements in efficiency and quality.

Intelligent Equipment: The Core Engine of Productivity

KEPO has fully implemented smart production equipment across its workshops, covering automated assembly, visual inspection, and intelligent handling processes. Key product lines such as AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems) and ambient lighting leverage automated assembly units that enable precise process control and flexible production scheduling.

KEPO’s core product range includes vehicle AVAS acoustic modules, cabin ambient lighting, and 4D Exciter  haptic vibration units. These products require high levels of assembly precision, consistency, and multi-process integration. To address their specific technical requirements, KEPO has deployed tailored, deployable smart manufacturing technologies:

1. Acoustic Modules (AVAS): Tackling Noise Reduction, Waterproofing, and Consistency

Automatic Dispensing & Plasma Pretreatment: To ensure the acoustic housing’s sealing performance, plasma surface treatment is conducted before assembly, followed by precision-controlled adhesive dispensing.

Structural Sound Pressure Testing Station: At the end of the line, multi-channel sound pressure sensors and waveform comparison systems are used to ensure acoustic performance consistency.

IP Rating Automated Testing: Water mist and short-duration immersion tests validate the product’s protection level (IPX4/IPX6) before delivery.

2. Ambient Lighting (Light Guidance and Color Consistency)

Multi-Station Light Guide Assembly Fixtures: High-precision positioning jigs and error-proof interlock mechanisms are used to maintain light guide angles and interface alignment, minimizing manual errors.

Automatic Color Temperature and Brightness Calibration: High-precision optical sensors test each LED for brightness and color temperature, adjusting in real time via current modulation to ensure batch consistency.

Weathering and UV Aging Tests: Climate chambers and UV exposure equipment are used to evaluate material aging and yellowing resistance.

3. Haptic/Vibration Modules (4D Seating)

Eccentric Motor Automatic Installation and Dynamic Balancing: The haptic module’s core component is the eccentric motor. KEPO uses semi-automated assembly and balancing systems to ensure uniform vibration feel.

NVH Noise Analysis Test Bench: Assembled modules undergo full system testing to identify abnormal vibration frequencies and noise, improving ride comfort.

EMC Pre-Inspection Station: The seat vibration motor modules, which contain electronic control units, must pass electromagnetic compatibility pre-checks to meet vehicle EMC standards.

Quality Control: End-to-End Digital Traceability

The foundation of KEPO’s quality management lies in building a closed-loop lifecycle data system. Every product, from raw material intake to processing and final inspection, is visualized and traceable.

Deep MES System Integration: Seamless interface with ERP and WMS systems ensures real-time synchronization of materials, work orders, equipment, and personnel status.

SPC Real-Time Monitoring: Key quality indicators are monitored through Statistical Process Control to detect and alert anomalies at the earliest stage.

Full-Process QR Code Traceability: Every product has a unique code, enabling full traceability of production history down to the operator, shift team, and equipment ID.

Production Efficiency: Lean + Intelligent Dual Drivers

To enhance efficiency, KEPO integrates lean manufacturing principles with intelligent capabilities, leveraging data-driven decision-making, process optimization, and flexible scheduling to improve workshop operations.

Flexible Line Configuration: Workstations and production rhythms can be quickly adapted to order variations, meeting small-batch, multi-variety demands.

Digital Work Order System: Paper-based instructions are fully replaced by digital dashboards and AR-based operational guidance, improving standardization and training efficiency.

Advancing Toward the Future of Manufacturing

With the continued rise of automotive electronics and intelligence, KEPO will further invest in smart manufacturing and digital management systems, building a more flexible, reliable, and efficient future factory. Tomorrow’s workshops will not only produce products—they will be data-driven hubs of value creation.
