With the acceleration of electrification, new energy vehicles have gradually become the mainstream choice for urban travel due to their low noise and zero emission characteristics. However, the “excessive quietness” during low-speed driving also poses new traffic safety hazards, especially in scenarios involving pedestrians, children, and blind spots, where the lack of sound cues becomes a potential risk source.
Based on years of experience in the development of acoustic electronic systems, KEPO has launched a three-in-one Acoustic Warning System (AVAS) to systematically address the pain points of new energy vehicles, such as weak pedestrian perception, insufficient safety warnings, and difficulties in sound source localization, especially when driving at low speeds. This system helps original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) efficiently meet regulatory requirements and create a differentiated acoustic experience.
✅ What is KEPO’s three-in-one AVAS?
KEPO’s three-in-one AVAS solution integrates three core functions:AVAS Alarm ,External speaker Function , and Electric Speaker Honking , balancing regulatory compliance, safety reminders, and brand communication.
The three in one AVAS system drives the exterior speaker by inputting analog signals, and can outputting a maximum voltage of 8.94Vrms to the speaker to achieve clear sound. It integrates three core functions: alarm prompt, exterior speaker (welcome sound effect, Car voice or lighting to locate, low battery warning, Car lock farewell music), and electric horn sounding. The system provides multi-dimensional road safety protection for electric vehicles through precise acoustic signal control, including pedestrian warning, driving status feedback, emergency situation warning, etc. It effectively compensates for the environmental perception blind spots when electric vehicles are driving quietly, and improves the interaction safety between vehicles and road users.
Technology implementation: from simulation to real vehicle verification
During the development process of AVAS, KEPO relied on its **self-built NVH experimental platform and HIL simulation system** to achieve an efficient closed loop from scheme design to system-level verification:
✅ Core simulation & testing capabilities:
Sound pressure/spectrum simulation: Based on multi-scenario modeling, it predicts sound energy distribution and frequency response, optimizing the sound emission curve in advance.
Sound source localization simulation: By arranging loudspeakers and simulating sound reflection, optimize pedestrians’ perception of the sound source direction.
HIL platform verification: Conducting multi-variable tests involving virtual road conditions, speed variations, and temperature disturbances to verify the accuracy of acoustic response and control strategies.
Complete vehicle NVH test chamber: Simulate urban environment, and conduct objective evaluation on sound pressure intensity, transmission rate, and directivity.
Project delivery support and customization capabilities
KEPO can provide one-stop AVAS technical services according to different OEM requirements:
